What is an electric tugger and when should I use one instead of a forklift?
A tugger is a walk behind power unit that pulls wheeled carts. It fits where a forklift cannot, needs no license and costs a fraction to run. Use one for repeat moves of carts up to about 25,000 lb.
How much does an electric tugger cost?
Compact units start around $4,700. Heavy duty 5,000 to 7,500 lb models run $6,300 to $9,000. AC drive tuggers rated to 25,000 lb start near $20,000.
How do I choose the right load capacity?
Add up the heaviest train of carts you move at once, then add 25 percent for ramps and worn casters. Pick the next rating up. We check the math with you before you order.
Can a motorized cart run a full shift on one charge?
Yes. Pony Express carts and tuggers are sized for an eight hour shift, and the lithium models take a swappable pack for multi shift use.
